Most birthdays are both, in the same hour.
You blow out the candles and mean it, and in the same breath you think of someone who isn't at the table, or a number you didn't expect to reach so soon.
That isn't a problem with your birthday. It's what a threshold is. You don't need a better party. You need a place to put the year.
So I made you one. With a candle on it.
You love your birthday
You want it to leave something behind this year, more than dinner and photographs.
A big number is coming
Thirty, forty, fifty. You'd like to cross it on purpose.
You'll be on your own
By circumstance or by choice. You want the day to mean something anyway.
You've been dreading it
There's grief in this date, or someone missing. Nothing here will ask you to perform joy.
The day is the smallest part.
Almost everything made for birthdays stops at the day itself. This follows the whole shape of it, one candle at a time.
Closing
Say goodbye to the year. What was beautiful, what hurt, what never happened.
Celebrating
A guided ceremony of gratitude, presence, and a real wish for the year ahead.
Landing
Ordinary life comes back. One tiny choice makes the wish real.
Company
Not a meditation. Just my voice, so you're not alone with it.
What kind of birthday is coming?
Five questions, no right answers. At the end I'll send you the free ritual: ten pages to print, light a candle, and really be with yourself.
Three ways to celebrate.
The free ritual is ready today. The full ceremony opens soon, and early friends come in at the founding price.

hi, I'm IditI learned to meditate on the New York subway.
On a loud train, standing up, holding a pole. That's when I understood that stillness is something you do inside the noise.
So I make meditations for the moments you already live in: the shower, the morning, and the day you were born.
My birthday is tomorrow. Is that too late?
No. Take the free ritual tonight. The night before is the real beginning anyway. And if your birthday already passed, it still counts.
Why do you ask when my birthday is?
So I can come celebrate with you when your month comes around, instead of writing at some random moment. Just the day and month. I don't ask for the year.
What if my birthday is genuinely hard?
Then Company is for you. It isn't a meditation and it doesn't ask you to feel grateful. It's someone speaking to you on a day when it can be hard to be spoken to.
A heavy birthday is common and human, and nothing here is therapy. If what you're carrying is bigger than a hard day, please talk to someone who can be with you properly.
